Behind PuntAla Cycle Tours is a handful of people. We’re few, but YOU are many: all you bikers who’ve had a good time with us on the trails, who’ve rented one of our bikes, who’ve come to us for repairs and tips. Thank you for sharing your time and energy (loads of it to get up Monte di Muro!).

Mario Grossniklaus
“Hallo zäme, i’m Mario, Italian name but of Swiss origins. You, me, we all have origins and names, but my experience is that mountain biking cares little about borders or nationalities. The sound of gears changing, the adrenaline pumping, brakes whistling … it’s universal.”
Growing up in the Swiss Alps, early in his life, Mario learned about the benefits of gears to climb mountains and about the thrills of riding downhill. What people say about Swiss quality is true: you’ll find it in his attention to details and almost maniacal perfectionism in mechanics. In Italy since 2006, he’s also become an expert in l’arte dell’arrangiarsi, the uncanny ability to repair anything by using what’s on hand. Pedaling next to him is a great experience. Enjoy his insider tips and jokes. Uphills will be a little less heavy and technical trails less scary.

“Year 2004, younger than ever with energy to burn and time off, I take to biking the trails of the Bandite di Scarlino nature reserve with reckless joy, a die-hard spirit of adventure but very few companions. Year 2006, I meet Mario, my life and bike partner.Year 2008, why not make a living out of this passion and share the excitement of biking with others? Year 2009, we create PuntAla Cycle Tours. Year 2010 Bandite Bike Park is born, thanks to the joint energy and passion of local bikers.”
Stephanie is as comfortable blazing the trails as she is behind the computer, taking care of administration and office work. Ride with her if you want to ride with a local who will take you through time and space with stories of the area, its people and environment.
